Saliva is “body fluid” as is blood, tears, semen, vaginal fluid, so be wise and be careful. A simple kiss is ok, but it is very risky to use deep throat kissing.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS wear a condom when having sex. If you are a married man, or single, you don’t want to infect your wife or girlfriend, or significant other.

We have been working on the American Red Cross because of transmission of Lyme in our blood supply and I send information to the local Dept of Health to classify Lyme as an STD.

Thanks for posting and sorry our Blog was eating up my posts…

I am a young adult with Lyme who is, of course, concerned about the possibility of transmitting it. I was wondering if you had a source for the statement that “Lyme has been found in saliva,” as I have unable to find any studies addressing that over the past.

I’ve seen the youtube videos of MAttman showing it in blood, urine, reproductive fluids, and tears, but she makes no mention of saliva.

Thank you so much,
Adam
