Safer Surgery with Magnesium

Complications such as arrhythmias, kidney failure, stroke and infections may occur after major surgery. Everyone scheduled for surgery needs to increase their stores of magnesium. In the pre and postoperative phases magnesium can help alleviate pain, decrease blood pressure, alleviate certain heart arrhythmias; it works to prevent blood clotting, relieves depression so common after bypass surgery, and improves energy and cognitive abilities.

Probiotic research needed to fulfill gut health potentia

Linda’s comment:  Probiotic are extremely to those of us with chronic illness, especially Lyme patient’s…..  Guy Montague-Jones is right, as probiotics are needed to fulfill gut health potential.  Over the years I have tried many probiotics and finally found one that I like.  Plus, it doesn’t have to be refrigerated…. www.researchednutritionals.com When you go to the website, you will find you need to purchase their products through a doctor.  I’m working on that right now.  Please check back, as I have a doctor who I am working with that will give his code, so that you can order direct from the company.  The name of the probiotic I take is “Prescript-Assist Pro” and it is excellent.

non-GMO shopping Guide website

Linda’s Comment:  This is the “NEW” non-GMO shopping Guide website….you can learn and help us ALL teach your families, friends, colleagues, DOCTORS and yourselves about the dangers of GMO foods.  GMO foods FEED the Lyme critters, parasites and bacteria.  When you eat GMO foods, you are swallowing pesticides, herbicides and  much more.  We are blessed to have more and more organic, “pick our own” farms sprouting up across the USA….There have been two here in Arizona in the last few months, or at least ones that I have discovered.  You will find that your pricing for pick our own organics is the same price you pay in the stores….it could very well save you from medical bills, sickness and help to keep your children safe and healthy……   Then scoot on over the Home - Seeds of Deception ( www.seedsofdeception.com ) and join the newsletter group and you will receive the “Spilling the Beans” newsletter as it comes out.  Jeffery Smith has worked for years and years to fight the Monsanto’s of the world who are “killing” us….The concept of GMO foods was not thought out well, or they just didn’t care….Cancer is on the rise, so we ask Why?  Is it because of the deadly GMO foods?  All five of the Cancers I dealt with were environmental chemicals and foods.  Yes, I learned a hard lesson and have now turned into a preacher against these deadly foods.   Regards, Linda

Suzanne Somers’s Cancer Book “Knockout”

Linda’s Comment:  I’m in the process of reading this book and so far it ROCKS.  Having battled (5) Cancers myself and beaten them on using ONLY alternative medicine and adjuncts, I can relate to much of what Suzanne has to say.  Cancer is preventable, but many of us don’t pay attention until we hear those words,”You have Cancer”….Yes, it certainly gets your attention.  Many forget to stop and think about how they ended up with Cancer?  These are things you don’t think of ,UNTIL you hear those words, and then it is usually the last thing you even think about.  Once I got over the shock of hearing those words and had my treatment protocol laid out, I wanted to know how and why? No, I didn’t question God, but I questioned myself.  Thanks to my alternative doctors and friends I stepped back and began looking at what I ate. Yep, I ate a lot of GMO foods, sugar, the wrong fats and used a microwave.  I began looking under my cabinets and in my medicine cabinets, as well as my laundry room.  Boy was I shocked.  My friends, doctors and research lead me to start removing all the toxins and chemicals I had around me.  It actually isn’t hard to do, but it is a shocker that the FDA would allow the industry to sells these DEADLY products.

The chemical toxins that we use to clean and wash our clothes with are scary when you begin to read labels.  The chemicals we put on our bodies and the cosmetics that are toxic and loaded with chemicals will make you angry, as they did me.  How could the industry approve them?  How could the industry in good faith shove these chemicals at us?  I had no idea what perfume and body creams were putting into my blood stream, much less in my lungs, breasts and ovaries!!  The plug-in air-fresheners and aerosol sprays are DEADLY.  The good news is there are cleaning products, laundry products, body creams, shampoos that are not toxic and filling our bodies with additional toxins.  Oh yea, let’s not forget the pesticides and herbicides that are giving us our toxic world!!

I only wish I had known about the FIGHT program, that I began over a year ago.  Thank you Dr Gordon for developing this lifelong daily detox protocol.  IT WORKS….They talk about the FIGHT program in the 16th chapter of Suzanne’s book.  The FIGHT protocol has helped me begin to dissolve biofilms and reduce my total body burden of pathogens and toxins.  The great thing about this program is it is lifelong.  Yes, I said lifelong, but we are living in a very toxic world and are being slammed daily with hundreds of toxins from our environment. Beyond Fiber

Linda’s comments:

I have tried over a dozen Fibers over my lifetime and Beyond Fiber is the best one I have found.  This is a Fiber that even healthy folks need to be taking.  There is no way you can eat enough Fiber in our daily diets, especially Fiber that does what the Beyond Fiber does.  Those Lymies with leaky gut or intestinal  problems will benefit from this great Fiber.  As we are detoxing the Beyond Fiber carries the toxins out of our body at a rapid pace.

Many Lymies have used other Fibers, but when they switch to the Beyond Fiber they have better results.
I’m now on a full scoop, TWICE daily…..it also appears to be enhancing the Probiotic I take, which is very important for those with chronic illness.  This FIGHT program is a blessing to those of us who are dealing with Lyme and other chronic illness.

Harmful Chemicals Found in Canned Food

I have been preaching this for years, now you can read it with your own eyes.  What is the industry thinking?  We adults can research and find these things on our own, BUT it is our children that I am worried about. Suggest reading is “Our Toxic World” by Dr Doris Rapp, MD, MD(h)

HOMEMADE LAUNDRY SOAP

: HOMEMADE LAUNDRY SOAP
:
: Bar of Ivory Soap (plain, pure, no fragrance)
:  1 Cup Washing Soda (not baking soda) -Borax or Arm & Hammer
:  Fill a large bucket or container with hot tap water.  Set aside.
Grate the bar of soap into a sauce pan.   Add water just to cover.  heat,
: stirring constantly, until soap is dissolved.  Add soap/water mixture
to the hot water in the bucket.  Stir to combine.  Then (do not reverse
: this order) add 1 cup of washing soda & stir.  As this cools it will
: turn to a gelatinous soap (thickness depends on size of bucket used).
: To use, put 2 cups in to a full load of laundry.  Note: Washing Soda
is made by Arm & Hammer & the box looks like a big box of baking soda,
but it is not the same thing.

***********************************************************************************************

:   Homemade Laundry Soap
:   1/3 bar Fels Naptha Soap
:   1/2 cup Arm & Hammer super washing soda
:   1/2 cup Borax

Grate the Fels Soap, & put into pan with 3 quarts of water.  heat
until dissolved.  Stir in the washing soda & borax.  Mix & heat until all
is dissolved.  Cook for 15 minutes.  Remove rom heat.  In a large bucket (3-5
gallon) put 1 qt. of hot water, & add the soap, mix.  Add 51/2 qts. cold
water (or enough to make 2 gallons total mixture)  Mix until well blended.
Set aside for 24 hours.  It will gel up.  Use between 1/2- 1 cup per
load.  Total cost= about .54 cents !!!

************************************************************************************************

It is suggested  that you store this mixture in a plastic bucket or other
heavier plastic or glass container that has already been used to store a
cleaning product. Recycled plastic milk jugs are NOT a good container to use for
this one, as they deteriorate after a few weeks, and you will be left
with a very sticky mess. The recipe calls for soap flakes, which are nearly
impossible to find in a grocery store these days, but you can use a food
grater with a bar of pure soap (such as Ivory) and get the same results.

Laundry Detergent: Basic Mix

1 cup soap flakes
1/2 cup washing soda
1/2 cup borax

************************************************************************************************
  A recipe for laundry soap!

This will cost you only around $7 a year to make your own soap!

You will need:

Bar of Ivory soap
1 cup of washing soda (Arm and Hammer for example)

Directions:
Fill large bucket or container with 3 gallons of hot tap water.  Grate
the bar of soap into a saucepan.  Add just enough water to cover the soap,
and heat, stirring constantly until soap is dissolved.  Add soap/water
mixture to the hot water in the bucket.  Stir to combine.  Add 1 cup of washing
soda and stir (do not mix up these steps).  As this cools, it will turn
into a white gelatanious soap.  Thickness depends on the size of bucket
used.  Use 1 1/2 to 2 cups per load of laundry.  You can add 1/2 cup of
baking soda to the load as well.  Use 1/2 cup vinegar in a downy ball as
a softner (the vinegar smell does not stay in your clothes).

Recipes

LAUNDRY SOAP
To switch from commercial detergents to an environmentally-safe
solution, you will first have to get rid of the detergent residue in your clothes.
Use water as hot as the fabric can stand and 50mL washing soda for each
load. This must be done once for all of your laundry to prevent yellowing.

All-Purpose Soap
250mL soap flakes
125mL Borax

250mL = 1Cup

125mL = 1/2Cup…and so on
125mL washing soda

Mix together and store in a properly labeled container. Measure 125mL of
soap mixture and add to water in your washing machine before adding clothes.
Use your regular wash setting and rinse in cold water.

Delicate Care Soap
25mL Borax
250mL soap flakes
1L boiling water

Mix together. Cool and pour into a properly labeled container. Use 1/4
of solution for each litre of water. Add clothing and wash gently. Rinse thoroughly.

STARCH

General purpose
15mL cornstarch
250mL water

Mix together. Store in a properly labeled spray bottle and shake
vigorously before use. You can adjust the
degree of stiffness you prefer by adding more cornstarch.

Delicate fabrics

1 package unflavoured gelatin
500mL hot water
Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Dilute with at least 1L water and add clothes.

BLEACH
Soak whites overnight in solution of 250mL soap flakes, 50mL Borax and
20L water, or add 125mL Borax to your wash load or boil whites in a large pot
with Borax to get clothes white.

FABRIC SOFTENER

If you wash with soap, add 125mL to 250mL of white vinegar to the rinse
cycle. It softens fabrics and helps to remove soapy film.Or use the following:

500mL herbal vinegar or white vinegar
500mL baking soda
1000mL water

Mix baking soda and vinegar together. Add to the water and stir well.
Store in a properly labeled container.
Add 60mL of the solution to the final rinse cycle.

DRYING

Hang all clothes to dry and iron while still slightly damp. For static
cling: toss a small wet towel into the dryer a few minutes before the end of the cycle.

STAIN REMOVAL

Ballpoint pen: Rub toothpaste on stain or soak stain in milk and rub
away. Wash.

Blood: Soak stain in cold water for 30 minutes. Rub with soap. If
necessary, wash with Borax.

Coffee/tea: Rinse stain in cold water. Wash in a mild solution of Borax
and water as hot as the fabric can
stand.

Felt tip pens: Rub stain with soap. Rinse and wash. Use lemon juice for
stubborn stains.

Fruit Juice: Use boiling water. Bleach out stain with lemon juice.

Grass: Rub stain with glycerine (available at the drugstore). Wait one
hour, then wash.

Grease: Rub stain with a damp cloth dipped in Borax. Or for cotton
fabric, wash in washing soda and boiling
water.

Ink: Spray hairspray on stain and rinse out with warm water. For white
fabrics, wet the fabric with cold water
and apply a paste of lemon juice and cream of tartar. Let it sit for one
hour, then wash as usual.

Lipstick: Rub stain with cold cream or shortening to dissolve colour.
Rinse area with a solution of washing
soda in warm water to remove grease. Wash in soapy water as hot as the
fabric will stand.

Perspiration: Rub stain with a solution of white vinegar or lemon juice
and water.

Red Wine: Clean stain immediately with club soda.

Rust: Saturate stain with lemon juice. Rub with salt. Place in direct
sunlight until dry, then wash.

60-Second Energy Boosters (tips)

60-Second Energy Boosters

1. Citrus Splash
It’s 4 p.m., and you’re wondering how you’re going to muster enough
get-up-and-go to finish the day. The next time you start crashing,
try one of these tips from four of the nation’s top spas.
Slather yourself with citrus scents. They’re said to enhance energy
and boost mood, so look for products infused with lemon, lime, or
orange essential oils.

2. Chill Out With Cool Water
Run your hands under cool water for 20 seconds. Then close your eyes
and, using the middle finger of each hand, tap each of the following
areas five times: between your eyebrows, the tops of your cheekbones,
your chin, and the area just under your nose. This stimulates the
nerve endings in your face, giving you an all-over pick-me-up.

3. Step Up to More Energy
Walk or run up two flights of steps (about 20 stairs) twice. Land on
every other step on the way up, and hit every step on the way down.
It’s a great way to get your heart rate and circulation going.

4. Wash Up to Wake Up
Soak a clean cotton washcloth in water that has been infused with a
few drops of lavender or mint, put it in the refrigerator, and let it
chill for 10 minutes. Then place the washcloth over your face and
breathe deeply.

5. Feel Like a Million Mints
Brushing your teeth isn’t just good for your teeth and gums, it can
also pep you up. Keep a toothbrush at the office and brush with a
minty toothpaste, followed by a gargle with a minty mouthwash, to
stimulate all of your senses.

Cabbage Soup: an Anti-Cancer Recipe

Cabbage Soup: an Anti-Cancer Recipe
If you want to significantly lower your risk of developing cancer, consider eating cabbage at least a few times a week. Cabbage belongs to the Cruciferous family of vegetables - other vegetables that belong in this family include broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collards, Brussels sprouts, Bok Choy, watercress, and arugula.
Phytonutrients found in cabbage and other Cruciferous vegetables stimulate your genes to increase production of enzymes that detoxify your cells, resulting in elimination of free radicals, toxins, and potential carcinogens from your body.
Marilyn I juiced a head of NaPa Cabbage daily with one clove of garlic….you can add good salt to taste.

If you do a search through the archives of peer-reviewed and indexed journals at the National Library of Medicine, you’ll find numerous studies that indicate that people who eat large amounts of cruciferous vegetables have a lower-than-average risk of developing lung, colon, breast, ovarian, prostate, and bladder cancer.

Perhaps the most powerful, anti-cancer phytonutrient found in cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables is indole-3-carbinole, a compound that stimulates cellular detoxification, including estrogen detoxification. Indole-3-carbinole’s ability to prevent estrogen dominance is what makes cruciferous vegetables like cabbage an excellent food choice for cancer prevention, particularly breast cancer prevention.
If you want to enjoy the many health benefits of cabbage but don’t know where to start, give the following Cabbage-Miso soup a try. It’s super easy to make, and is one of the tastiest soups that we enjoy in our home.

Cabbage Miso Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
4 cups (around 10 ounces) chopped green cabbage (organic)
6 cups water or vegetable broth (vegetable broth adds lots of flavor) use organic and
make sure it doesn’t have MSG in it.
2 celery ribs, diagonally sliced (organic)
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced  (organic)
1 carrot, thinly sliced (organic)
8 garlic cloves, 4 finely chopped and 4 sliced (organic)
1/3 cup miso (or Korean den jang)
Few drops sesame oil per bowl(optional)

Directions:
1. Bring 6 cups of good bottled water or vegetable broth to a boil in a big soup pot. Add cabbage, celery, onion, carrot, and sliced garlic. Cover, reduce to low-medium heat, and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
2. Stir in chopped garlic, then turn off heat. Dissolve miso with some of hot soup liquid in a cup or bowl, then pour it into the pot. For an extra zing of flavor, add a few drops of sesame oil to each bowl just before serving. If you enjoy sweet and sour soups, add fresh lime juice (about 1 lime for the whole pot) right before adding the miso.
Enjoy this nourishing cabbage and miso soup - it goes wonderfully with a bowl of rice and kim chi, a fermented Korean cabbage dish.

It is also easy on the tummy, when you don’t feel like eating anything heavy…
