The only sequences Mikovits and Ruscetti found were polytropic. Silverman at the Cleveland clinic made a mistake and instead of sequencing the viruses sent to him by the other two lab full sequenced the VP62 plasmid that had only been present in his lab.

Lo et al found polytropic sequences. The findings were indentical. Both studies found MLV-related viruses in ME patients with a polytropic host range.
