Linda’s comments:  I don’t know what it is going to take to get these aspartame addicted folks off the diet products…because of the addicting qualities of artificial sweeteners like Aspartame, Equal, Splenda, NutraSweet, it continues to grab people like Heroine…..Let me tell you when I went through my poisoning with diet cokes and diet Dr Pepper, the withdrawals were DEADLY….I ended up loosing part of a lung because of that addiction…The liver damage is unbelievable with these addicted people….It is amazing the brain tumors Dr Blaylock has removed due to Aspartame….the organ damage is unreal….you can’t really blame these folks as they do not realize THEY ARE ADDICTED……The withdrawals I went through almost put me in the hospital…..hives, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, joint aches and heart palpations….HORRIBLE…
I PRAY THAT GOD WILL HELP WITH THESE ADDICTIONS….

Dear Jenna,

I think we get more cases of MS and Lupus than anything else, although there are so many symptoms and diseases triggered or precipitated by aspartame that the medical text by Dr. Roberts is  over 1000 pages, and it was cut down 40% just to publish.  Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, www.sunsentpress.com MS is on the cover.

Dr. James Bowen explains the aspartame lupus connection this way: The ability of methyl alcohol/formaldehyde to create antigenicity, especially as combined in APM molecules is so great as to cause severe autoimmune reactions to the tissues deformed by formaldehyde polymerization, adduct formation. The immune system turns against the victim,s tissues: Lupus.

As to MS, aspartame disease can mimic or eventually precipitate MS.  Many people like Cori Brackett have walked out of wheelchairs simply by getting off of it.  In a separate email I’m enclosing the Aspartame Resource Guide which will give you detoxification, books and even the history of how this chemical poison was marketed through the political chicanery of Don Rumsfeld, and was never proven safe scientifically.

I have put together both neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock’s report as well as Dr. H. J. Roberts, and other case histories in one email.  If you can get this report to their physicians and them, of course, the physicians will understand. http://www.mpwhi.com/new_report_at_neurology_conference.htm

Also, I would like to introduce you to Jim McDonald of the UK Aspartame Awareness Campaign – bigmac2@freenetname.co.uk In the UK you can get Cori’s film from Namaste Publishing, info@namastepublishing.co.uk

You can also subscribe to the Aspartame Information List on www.mpwhi.com Scroll down to banners.

Please let me know if you can get your family off this poison and how they do, or when they get well. Also, be sure to give them a copy of this Aspartame Resource Guide with detoxification and other helpful information.

All my best,
Betty

Dear Dr Betty Martini,

My name is Jenna R, my mother Shona K suffers from MS.  She was diagnosed possibly in her twenties with symptoms of this disease but did not appear apparent enough to be considered full blown MS.  She is now in her late fifties and about a couple of years ago she appeared to show a decline in her mobility.  She then endured a stressful separation from my dad which resulted in a rapid decline in her health.  She was signed off from work for a bout 1 year due to her re-occurring bouts but has since been able to return to work January this year.  Although, she is able to work she is still has problems with mobility and the occasional bout.  I read a few years ago about the possibility that Aspartame in the diet can cause this disease.

If I think back to when I was younger my mother consumed a lot of Coke a cola and various fizzy drinks.  I suffered from soft teeth and did not consume these products very often and stayed away from anything that was sweet.  My sister is a Lupus sufferer and I also read that there may be a connection with Aspartame and this disease with MS passed on genetically.

I have concerns for both my mother and my sister as they still consume sweet products which more than likely contain this substance.  I have always thought that perhaps my mothers condition worsens due to her diet but have not been able to get this through to her.

I read your note on rense.com about a patient called Cori Brackett.  Although, my mothers condition may be different to this person but wondered if there may be a connection to Aspartame with my mothers condition?

Dr’s do not seem to give any positive feedback here in Scotland UK and wondered if you could give any suggestions?

Infectious Disease: annoying or life threatening? http://lymebook.com/fight/infectious-disease-annoying-or-life-threatening/ http://lymebook.com/fight/infectious-disease-annoying-or-life-threatening/#respond Sat, 12 Feb 2011 00:51:44 +0000 http://lymebook.com/fight/infectious-disease-annoying-or-life-threatening/ Link: http://eutils.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/elink.fcgi?dbfrom=pubmed&id=21113897&retmode=ref&cmd=prlinks

Excerpt:

Infectious diseases can affect the previously healthy adolescent as well as
severely immuno-compromised intensive care unit patients. The effects may be
merely annoying, but in many cases they can become life-threatening. The
immediate impact of infectious diseases on everyday life can be seen with
Helicobacter pylori, which infects more than 50% of the global population,
or Borrelia burgdorferi, which causes a major tick-borne disease in Europe
and America. On the other hand, in less-developed countries, infections
causing diarrhea are still among the most important causes of death –
especially in children. Research in Medical Microbiology ranges from
attempts to better understand the physiology and ecology of the causative
agents to epidemiological typing of clinical isolates. It covers the mutual
interactions of pathogenic microbes as well as the interplay between
microorganism and host. Among the most pressing problems in medical
microbiology is the emerging of antibiotic resistances. In recent years,
both Gram-positive bacteria – with the first description of vancomycin
resistant Staphylococcus aureus – as well as Gram-negative species – e.g.
with the emergence of extended spectrum beta-lactamases – have seen new and
dramatic occurrences of resistance.
Consequently, the detection and characterization of new antimicrobial
compounds is, more than ever, an important task. All these topics are
covered by the research articles compiled in this Special Issue of the
Journal of Basic Microbiology. Further, the publication of this Special
Issue should underline the importance of “Basic Microbiology” for “Medical
Microbiology”: The sometimes existing gap between basic research and
application needs to be bridged urgently and in a time-saving manner as
often as possible. We are convinced that only combined efforts of experts in
both areas will allow us to tackle future’s problems in infectious diseases
efficiently ((c) 2010 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim).

Zeolites: Can they treat cancer? http://lymebook.com/fight/zeolites-can-they-treat-cancer/ http://lymebook.com/fight/zeolites-can-they-treat-cancer/#respond Tue, 05 Oct 2010 04:33:55 +0000 http://lymebook.com/fight/?p=1709 The world is clearly becoming increasingly toxic and everyone is looking for more support for their  detoxification program. Longevity Plus offers two forms of zeolite, ACZ as the oral spray, which is where we start everyone with two bottles working up to 10 sprays QID. Then many are switched to the far stronger ZeoGold, which has the same amount of Zeolite in each pre-measured dose capsule that MUST be hydrated before consuming. Always open the ZeoGold premeasured dosage capsules and add to 2-4 ounces of water to allow it to hydrate before consuming.  Watch for an increase in your exercise tolerance as we all have toxins that chelation alone cannot handle.

ACZ is also ideal for small children, as the level of lead in bones at birth today averages 1000 times higher than any bone lead levels 400 years ago. Bone remodels slowly so meaningful detoxification is a LENGTHY process, as bones in adults take 10- 15 years to remodel. The ACZ spray bottle version is documented to increase excretion of mercury and also is convenient to use topically to aid healing of skin injuries or poorly healing skin.

Zeolites are minerals that contain mainly aluminium and silicon compounds combined with water molecules. They are used as drying agents, detergents, and as water and air purifiers. Zeolites have been marketed as dietary supplements for hangover and for cancer treatment. Since they bind with other substances and may also neutralize stomach acid, they can interfere with many drugs when used together. When inhaled, Zeolite dust can cause certain type of lung cancer. There is no published human data to support the use of Zeolites for cancer treatment.

Purported Uses
•  Treatment of diarrhea
A drug containing zeolite was developed for diarrhea in Cuba
•  Anticancer therapy
In vitro and animal studies suggest anticancer properties, but there is no clinical data to validate use of Zeolites for cancer.
•  Antioxidant
Animal studies showed that Zeolites may have antioxidant properties
•  Immunoenhancer
Data from animal studies demonstrated that zeolites can both stimulate and suppress the immune system

Special Point
A company has filed a U.S. patent application on using a form of man-made zeolite as a cancer drug. Data submitted were based on lab, plant, and animal studies. The patent filing said the substance must be injected directly into the tumor. This means it has no benefits if taken by mouth. Since it will cost too much money to develop the product as a drug so the company decided to sell it as a dietary supplement. Zeolites have not been studied as a cancer drug in human clinical trials.

Excerpt:

A possible cause of irritable bowel syndrome has been traced to a small piece of RNA that blocks a substance protecting the colon membrane, leading to hostile conditions that can produce diarrhea, bloating and chronic abdominal pain.

New research shows that this RNA segment sends signals that stop the activity of the gene that produces glutamine, an amino acid. Previous research has linked a shortage of glutamine in the gut with the seepage of toxins and bacteria through the intestinal wall, irritating nerves and creating disease symptoms.

Scientists say that trying to generate glutamine in the disordered bowel by silencing this RNA segment could open up a whole new way of thinking about treating the diarrhea-predominant type of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In the meantime, they are making plans to conduct a clinical trial to see if glutamine supplements could also reduce common IBS symptoms

This form of the disorder is characterized by diarrhea and bloating as well as chronic abdominal pain that is difficult to treat. About a third of IBS patients have the diarrhea-predominant type, another third experience consistent constipation, and the rest experience alternating bouts of diarrhea and constipation.

They expect us to respect their avenues of treatment plans with using such poor judgement on making statements like they did with this article.
This is why I preach to all of you to do research if you are not sure about taking an herb with a pharmaceutical.  Yes of course there are herbs that will react differently when taking pharmaceutical drugs.  However, there are times it can compliment one to the other.  People who are on Chemotherapy/Radiation can and do take the “organic” Agaricus Mushroom from Brazil.  In fact we have seen many cancer patients on chemo respond more quickly when taking this Brazil mushroom.  Mushrooms are not mushrooms are not mushrooms AND you need to make sure what country the mushroom came from.  Most mushrooms come from China and/or Japan and these do NOT have the potency that the mushroom from Brazil has.  This is just one example of how pharmaceuticals can work with a choice of treatment which is stepping outside of the box.

Know your products.

(Austin, TX) At least several times per year an article is published in a medical journal that purports to provide health professionals and the public with useful information on the safety of herbs and herbal dietary supplements. Instead, what sometimes occurs is an article written by people with apparently little to no expertise in the subject area of herbal medicine and medicinal plant research and likewise apparently peer reviewed—if peer reviewed at all—by reviewers with little botanical knowledge or expertise. Yesterday, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology published such an article.1

This particular article has so many flaws and errors that it is difficult to know where to begin to critically review it.

Gluten sensitivity http://lymebook.com/fight/gluten-sensitivity/ http://lymebook.com/fight/gluten-sensitivity/#respond Wed, 11 Nov 2009 07:40:12 +0000 http://lymebook.com/fight/?p=418 Dear FACT members:

Gluten sensitivity, does everyone have some tendency to this common affliction? It is great to have gluten free foods becoming widely available and Harvard admitting this is hard to rule in or out. Not everyone has the classic symptoms yet this can be contributing to poor health for many people.

Now the hot button they are not touching is the issue about the epidemic Of AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE, as the book by Donna Nakazawa has so forcefully covered. That ties in to diseases where my F.I.G.H.T. program can be helping over 29 million who are afflicted with any one of the more than 100 entities now known to be autoimmune related.

What about leaky gut?  What about the need for probiotics and the right kind of fiber as found only in my opinion in Beyond Fiber? But will anyone dare mention avoid GMO foods? Can anyone at Harvard connect the dots between BACILLUS Theringensis, which kills insects by ripping apart their intestines and the rapidly developing epidemic of food sensitivities that are contributing to so many chronic health problems? At least Harvard has part of the story!  There is a major problem with food related diseases.

Sincerely,

** The Sensitive Gut

Have you ever wondered why your stomach feels queasy when you’re nervous or why emotions sometimes roil your intestines? If so, you are experiencing the symptoms of the gut-brain connection. The Sensitive Gut describes the many gastrointestinal conditions that are caused or at least exacerbated by stress, emotion, anxiety, and other brain-to-gut messages. Irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn and reflux, dyspepsia, and even gas and constipation are described here along with self-help and medical treatments.

Getting out the gluten

Celiac disease (an autoimmune disorder whose symptoms are triggered by gluten, the protein content in wheat, barley, rye, and spelt ) is on the rise. That’s one reason for the rise in popularity of gluten-free food.
Celiac specialists say the disease isn’t diagnosed as often as it should be. As a result, many people suffer with it for years, often after getting other — and incorrect — diagnoses and useless treatments.
But a growing number of the people dodging gluten fall into a gray area: they don’t have celiac disease but seem to be unable to digest gluten properly. There are no tests or strict criteria for this problem, aside from simple trial and error with a gluten-free diet. Some people may be getting caught up in a food fad. But many others probably do have trouble digesting gluten or perhaps the sugars in some of these grains (like the lactose intolerance that makes it hard to digest dairy foods).

Do you have a gluten problem?
The classic and most immediately noticeable symptoms of celiac disease are, not surprisingly, gastrointestinal: bloating, flatulence, and diarrhea, sometimes with smelly stools. People who can’t digest gluten or grain sugars may have similar symptoms.
Celiac disease can severely impair the absorption of nutrients. In children, this may lead to stunted growth; in adults, the consequences include anemia (because iron isn’t being absorbed) and weaker bones (because calcium and vitamin D aren’t getting into the body). Anemia causes fatigue and malaise, but some people with celiac disease feel that way without anemia.
Doctors sometimes miss the celiac disease diagnosis because they’re looking for the classic gastrointestinal symptoms, not the vaguer ones that stem for the most part from malabsorption of nutrients.
One major difference between celiac disease and grain-related digestion problems is that when it’s just a digestion problem it typically doesn’t lead to malabsorption and nutritional deficiencies.
Women with untreated celiac disease have higher-than-normal rates of menstrual abnormalities and infertility. A large study published in 2007 found an increased risk of pancreatitis in people with celiac disease. It’s not clear whether these associations suggest a cause-and-effect relationship or if celiac disease and these conditions happen to share an underlying cause.

Grains for the gluten-challenged
We’re often too quick to depend on pills instead of first working to change our diet and exercise habits. But with celiac disease, there’s no pill, and a fairly radical change in diet is the only treatment. Drug companies have started to take some interest in the disease, and treatments that would block the absorption of gluten are being investigated, but none so far are close to gaining FDA approval.
Until you need to avoid gluten, you probably don’t realize how ubiquitous it is. Gluten is used as a thickening agent and filler in everything from ketchup to ice cream. The inactive ingredients in many medications are gluten-based. And even when gluten isn’t an ingredient, it may inadvertently get into a food because a wheat-based food was processed in the same factory, or wheat was grown in a nearby field. At home, wooden utensils and toaster ovens are gluten “hot spots.” Oats don’t contain gluten, but many people with celiac disease avoid them because of contamination problems.
The gluten-free diet has traditionally depended on starch from rice, corn, and potatoes. Food makers have also learned how to use xanthan and guar gums to replace gluten’s elasticity: a common complaint about gluten-free baked goods is that they are powdery. But these formulations can also leave diets short of fiber and B vitamins. Melinda Dennis, the nutrition coordinator at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Celiac Center, encourages patients to eat foods made with unconventional but nutritionally well-rounded substitutes, including amaranth, buckwheat (no relation to wheat), millet, quinoa, sorghum, and teff. She calls them the “super six” because of their high vitamin and fiber content.
Eating out is one of the biggest issues for people with gluten problems. Vegetables get contaminated because they are steamed over pots of pasta water. Fish and chicken are floured to hold seasonings. But many restaurants are beginning to offer gluten-free items. And there are some celiac-friendly cuisines, even if they are not overtly gluten-free. Ethiopian (which uses teff), Indian, Mexican, and Thai are good possibilities.

Formaldehyde Facts
=================

Angel P. wrote:

DOn’t forget …from the Formaldehyde Institute other names it is known

“…. Ivalon, Quaternium-15, Lysoform,
Formalith, BVF, Methylene oxide, Formalin, Morbicid, Methanal, Methyl
aldehyde, Oxomethane, Formic aldehyde, Fannoform, Fyde, Lofol,
Oxymethylene, Formol, and Superlysoform…”

Quaternium-15 is in almost EVERY cosmetic and hair care product

When we pick up a product at the local grocery store, most of us like to think we are getting something that has been tested and proven to be safe.  After all, we have laws to protect our health and safety, don’t we?  Actually, the government has very limited power to regulate manufacturers, or require testing of their products.

Here are some disturbing facts:

A product that kills 5-% of lab animals through ingestion or inhalation can still receive the federal regulatory designation non-toxic .  Of the 17,000 chemicals that appear in common household products, only 30% have been adequately tested for their negative effects on our health; less than 10% have been tested for their effect on the nervous system; and nothing is known about the combined effects of these chemicals when mixed within our bodies.  No law requires manufacturers to list the exact ingredients on the package label.
Personal care product refers to just about anything we use to clean our bodies or make ourselves look or smell good.  The closest thing to a regulatory agency for the personal care industry is the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and their power is extremely limited.
Here are more unsettling facts regarding personal care products:

The FDA cannot regulate a personal care product until after it is released into the marketplace.  Neither personal care products nor their ingredients are reviewed or approved before they are sold to the public.

The FDA cannot require companies to do safety testing on their personal products before they are sold to the public.

The FDA cannot require recalls of harmful personal care products from the marketplace.

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and health (NIOSH) analyzed 2983 chemicals used in personal care products.  The results were as follows:

884 of the chemicals were toxic
314 caused biological mutation
218 caused reproductive complications
778 caused acute toxicity
148 caused tumors
376 caused skin and eye irritations.

Warning: You Can’t Trust Warning Labels!

You may think you know what is in a product and its potential harms by reading ingredient and warning labels.  Think again.  Manufacturers are not required to list the exact ingredients on the label.  Also, chemical names are often disguised by using innocuous trade names.
So, even if the chemical is listed on the label, you may not recognize it for what it is.  Even if the harsh and dangerous active ingredients are listed on a package, often time the remainder of ingredients are lumped into a category known as inert (not active) ingredients.
This term may lead you to believe that these chemicals are not toxic or hazardous.  In fact, many of the 1,000 different chemicals used as inert ingredients are more harmful than the active ingredients.  The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) does not require manufacturers to identify most inert chemicals, or disclose their potential harmful effects.  Even suspected carcinogens (cancer-causing agents) are used as inert ingredients in household products.

Regarding warning labels.  One New York study found that 85% of products they examined had incorrect warning labels.  Some were labeled poisonous, but weren’t; others were poisonous but weren’t labeled as such; others gave incorrect first aid information.  And there are absolutely no warnings on products about possible negative effects of long-term exposure.  This is unfortunate because most diseases linked to chemical exposure are the result of long-term exposure.

If we don’t know what is in it, and we don’t know if it can hurt us, how are we supposed to make an intelligent decision about whether or not to bring this product into our home?

Cleaning products (just a few that I know are used in house cleaning)
Air freshener- toxic; may cause cancer; irritates, nose, throat, and lungs.
Disinfectant- very toxic; causes skin, throat, and lung burns; causes coma.
Drain cleaner- toxic; causes skin burns; causes liver and kidney damage.
Oven cleaner – toxic; causes skin, throat and lung burns.
Window Cleaner- toxic; causes cns disorders; causes liver and kidney disorders.
Floor/Furniture polish – toxic causes cns disorders, may cause lung cancer Spot remover- toxic; may cause cancer, may cause liver damage.
All Purpose Cleaner – causes eye damage; irritates nose, throat and lungs.
Toilet bowl cleaner – very toxic; causes skin, nose, throat and lung burns.
Chlorinated scouring powder- toxic; highly irritating to nose, throat and lungs.
Dishwasher Detergent – toxic; causes eye injuries, damage to mucous membranes and throat.

As I said just a few.

One Common Ingredient Although it would take a second book to cover all the ingredients commonly used in the products above, I want to let you know about one, formaldehyde, as an example.  Formaldehyde is used frequently in both cleaning and personal care products because it is a cheap preservative.  The following information is taken from a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) which , by law, must be supplied to anyone who uses any chemical product in the workplace.  The MSDS for formaldehyde warns: Suspected carcinogen; may be fatal if inhaled, swallowed, or absorbed through the skin; causes burns; inhalation can cause spasms; edema (fluid buildup) of the larynx and bronchi, and chemical pneumonitis, extremely destructive to the tissue of the mucous membrane.  All these symptoms and more are caused by formaldehyde.  Yet manufacturers can put formaldehyde in shampoo and not list it as an ingredient!  You will be shocked to learn that formaldehyde is a common ingredient in baby shampoo, bubble bath, deodorants, perfume, cologne, hair dye, mouthwash, toothpaste, hair spray and many other personal care items.

Formaldehyde is a suspected carcinogen.  If all cancers start with the abnormal growth of just one cell, then why allow any amount into or onto your body?

Toxic Chemicals and the Human Body Your body is a very complex, very fragile system of chemical reactions and electrical impulses.  When you consider a single cell breathes, uses energy, and releases waste much like your whole body does, you can begin to understand how even small amounts of harmful chemicals can affect the performance of the body’s processes.  Chemicals enter the human body in three ways: ingestion, inhalation, and absorption.

Ingestion  brings to mind the image of a young child opening the cabinet under the sink and drinking something deadly.  Well, each year nearly 1.5 million accidental ingestion’s of poisons are reported to U.S.  Poison Control Centers.  The majority of the victims are under the age of twelve and have swallowed a cleaning or personal care product.
It amazes me how many deadly chemicals are stored under sinks or on bathroom counters and bathtubs within easy reach of young children.

Inhalation It may surprise you to learn that poisoning by inhalation is more common and can be much more harmful, than ingestion.  When something harmful is swallowed, the stomach actually begins breaking down and neutralizing the poison before it is absorbed into the bloodstream.
However, when you inhale toxic fumes, the poisons go directly into the bloodstream and quickly travel to organs like the brain, heart, liver and kidneys.  Many products give off toxic vapors which can irritate your eyes, nose, throat and lungs, and give you headaches, muscle aches, and sinus infections.  The process of releasing vapors into the air is called out gassing.  Out gassing occurs even when a chemical is tightly sealed in its container.  If you doubt this, simply walk down the cleaning aisle at your local grocery store, and notice how strongly it smells of toxic vapors, even though the containers are sealed tight.

Absorption Most people never guess this.

Finally, you need to realize the potential threat absorption poses.
One square centimeter of skin (less than the size of a dime), contains 3 million cells, four yards of nerves, one yard of blood vessels, and one hundred sweat glands.  We’ve all heard the ads for nicotine patches and analgesic creams.  These medicines work by being absorbed into the bloodstream through the skin.  Even some heart medicines are administered through transdermal (through the skin) patches.  Any chemical that touches the skin can be absorbed and spread throughout the body.  This can even happen when you come in contact with a surface that was treated with a chemical days or even weeks earlier.  I had no idea that my children could be harmed by crawling across the kitchen floor we had just cleaned.  I thought that we were being conscientious, not reckless.

Helping One Family at a Time…=)

Thank you Angel Para for your outstanding comments.

Nina Beinhorn “If you want something you’ve never had- you’ve got to do something you’ve never done!”

What Is Formaldehyde?
Formaldehyde is a colorless gas compound (HCHO) that can irritate eyes, mucous membranes and the upper respiratory system. It can be inhaled or absorbed by the skin. Formaldehyde is also a metabolic product of normal living cells. Formaldehyde is an excellent resin and binding agent and is very inexpensive to produce which contributes to it’s wide usage (approximately 6 billion pounds are produced each year). The only way for you to know how much formaldehyde may be in your home is to test.

Where Can Formaldehyde Be Found?
Formaldehyde is found virtually everywhere, indoors and out, naturally occurring and man-made. It is a combustion product found in cigarette and wood smoke, natural gas, kerosene, exhaust from automobiles, incinerators and power plants. It is also widely used in building materials especially glue, Urea-formaldehyde foam insulation and pressed-wood products such as plywood, particle board, paneling and wood finishes. Many floor coverings contain formaldehyde such as carpet as well as furnishings. Also used in paper products, cosmetics, deodorants, shampoos, fabric dyes and permanent-press fabrics, inks, and disinfectants. Another common place to find formaldehyde that seems out of place is in products that are supposed to make our homes smell better such as air and carpet deodorizers. Mobile homes, motor homes, and travel trailers are known for high amounts of formaldehyde since so many of their components may be made from particle board or pressed-wood products. The number of products that contain formaldehyde are as astounding as it is depressing.

Why Is Formaldehyde Dangerous?
Even in small amounts formaldehyde can cause serious health problems and unfortunately takes years to finally dissipate after being used in manufactured products. In some cases, exposure to formaldehyde can increase a persons sensitivity to other irritants or chemicals that were never a problem in the past, making them allergic to almost anything. For some people, past exposure to formaldehyde has permanently impaired their health and well being for the rest of their lives.

What Are The Health Effects Of Formaldehyde?
Symptoms of low-level exposure include; runny nose, sore throat, cough, dermatitis, sleeping difficulties, headache, fatigue, breathing difficulties, sinus irritation, chest pain, frequent nausea, bronchitis, and decreased lung capacity. If There Is A Problem How Do I Fix It?
Finding and removing the source is the most effective, but can be costly. Reducing the temperature and lowering the humidity level to approximately 35 percent can also help to diminish the effects. Formaldehyde tends to double its level of outgassing for every 10°F increase in temperature. There are also some surface barriers available to cover and reduce the formaldehyde outgassing from some components. Many other methods are available depending upon the source and amount of formaldehyde present. Further details are included with each test kit.
