I’m going camping this week. YES, this is important.

I know you are paying me $14.95/year and expecting to get your money’s worth. You don’t want to waste your time with silly blog posts about camping. Well…. not so fast.

Lyme disease messes up our bodies. Bad. Most healthy people have bodies which are able to withstand the onslaught of chemicals, toxins, electromagnetic pollution, and other bad things in our modern world. People with Lyme disease have bodies which CANNOT withstand these things. So, we eat organic, sleep on earthing pads, and take other measures to live a natural lifestyle, right?

Well, it’s not enough. Actually going and living in nature for a while – I mean, camping – sleeping close to the ground, living in a small tent (not an RV) where you are forced to get outside during the day – doing this has the effect of hitting the “reset” button on the body. It rejuvinates body, mind, and spirit, and is ESPECIALLY important for our bodies, which are already on overload.

So, camping isn’t just a fluff blog post. it’s a much bigger topic than that.

This week I’m camping at Big Sur, CA. We camped there three years ago. Below are some photos.

I’m not some lumberjack who was raised in the outdoors, so don’t tell me that camping is for tough people. I hadn’t set foot in a camp ground until 3 years ago. My mom always said her idea of camping was a 3 star hotel. I wasn’t raised in the outdoors. I sought the outdoors because it rejuvinates me. Maybe you feel that tug, that longing, that peaceful feeling in your soul, too, beckoning you out of the complex and wired world, back to our roots in nature.

Please read these two free chapters from my book, Freedom From Lyme Disease. I’m providing these chapters to you now, free of charge, because you are a subscriber to my journal. Pay particular attention to my camping essay located at the end of the 2nd chapter. Read the two free chapters now (including the camping essay). I feel so strongly about this topic and I really hope you won’t just glance over it in search of a pill or tincture to cure you. You really need more than that – a holistic approach.

It has been my family’s goal to camp much more often. As in, almost once a month. We can’t totally disconnect from the grid, but the benefits we get from disconnecting often, are huge. Not just close family time, but also for all of our health.

Yes, I know there are ticks. I address this a bit in the aforementioned essay. Bottom line: we take precautions, but there are still risks. But, ticks can show up in many other places in life, not just camping. Staying indoors all the time also has other risks.

Here’s to your health! (As usual, I’m not a doctor, just a person who has researched the heck out of Lyme disease. Consult a physician before trying any new treatments.)
