Dr. Gordon on Avastin

Hello

Avastin is a disaster waiting to happen. When will they stop paying for useless treatment that lulls patients into doing nothing meaningful for themselves?

If we just get patients to send the blood test to RGCC  lab in Greece  they would have some science to their treatment decisions instead of the cookbook medicine that is being practiced where doctors prescribe a useless therapy like Avastin  and fail to explain to patients how little benefit can be expected.

They have virtually nothing to offer with this dangerous drug and yet they sell over $6 billion a year! And what does the patient get; perhaps a few months in some cases of life extension? During which time the patient, who does not understand that they will soon be dead, turns off their brain and follows like a little lamb meekly the nonsense advice that comes with this useless therapy. They should at all costs take personal responsibility to do something real for themselves but with no antioxidants and no vitamin C and no change in diet, the use of this drug leads to patients to not doing anything on their own.
That is so sad, as the book Cancer as a Metabolic Disease shows, the current chemo/radiation based approach to cancer is based on a faulty wrong hypothesis.  Just read the last chapter about Ketogenic diet and at least you are doing something that has real potential for meaningful life extension with minimal downside and real results in many cancers.

For example, if we want to extend life span far more than Avastin will ever do we just need to look at simple things like diet and some supplements? Anything  we can mention will do better than these numbers. If patients understood the terrible benefit to risk ratio of this treatment, they would perhaps turn to something that has real potential to help them.

Sincerely,
