Get Your LYFE Back: Vote with Your Fork

Everybody has thought of it, but no one has done it. And we desperately need it!
How do we get food that tastes better than what you find in almost any restaurant or chain in America for a fraction of the cost? How do you “eat good, feel good and do good” when you eat your lunch?

Imagine eating food that delights your palette, heals your body, and supports the transformation of our agriculture and food supply by networking and supporting small, local, organic and clean farmers and fisheries. Imagine eating dishes spiced with herbs grown in the middle of the restaurant.

Omega 6 Benefits, with comments by Dr. Gordon

Dr. Gordon’s comments:

This is important research documenting the benefits of Omega-6 by looking at Arterial stiffness. This form of documentation of benefits is what we used 35 years ago when I wrote the Chelation protocol still widely used around the world today.

I have always insisted that Beyond Chelation Improved could not have eliminated fatal heart attacks, as well as it has, unless there were important synergies in the over 100 active ingredients found in the nine pill packets taken ideally twice a day.

Please understand you are as old as your arteries and preventing or even just slowing arterial stiffness is real anti-aging medicine! I hope you understand that I also work to keep bones strong, i.e. calcified and arteries soft, i.e. not calcified. That has been my Anti-aging focus for over 35 years so please read up on pathological calcification and K-2 and the rest of what I have written about extensively now for years.

Measuring arterial stiffness is a useful part of anti-aging medicine and keeps patients interested in staying on a comprehensive program to stay younger. There are great affordable devices today that accomplish this. Check out International Anti-aging Systems or IAS for their great affordable instrument that boils this down to VASCULAR AGE. You can make patients arteries many years younger over time predictably with the programs I have written about both oral and or IV but this is a lifetime program!!

Australian researchers pooled results of 10 randomized and controlled adult human clinicals investigating the effects of omega-3 supplementation on arterial stiffness. Trials ranged from 6 to 105 weeks in duration, with supplementation of 640 to 3000 mg of combined omega-3 eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in the form of daily capsules. A total of 550 participants were included in the meta-analysis, ranging from healthy men to subjects with various cardiovascular conditions, including overweight, diabetes, and hypertension.

Folic Acid intake

Higher Folic Acid intake in premenopausal woman is associated with 40% lower incidence of breast cancer.

“The results were higher intake of folate was related to reduced risk of breast cancer and this only applied to premenopausal women.”

Folate Associated with Reduced Risk of Breast Cancer
Source: American Journal of Epidemiology

Breast cancer is a cancer that forms in tissues of the breast, usually the ducts (tubes that carry milk to the nipple) and lobules (glands that make milk). It occurs in both men and women, although male breast cancer is rare. Risk factors for breast cancer include gender, age, family history, defective genes, early onset of menstruation, late menopause and late childbearing. Breast cancer is about ninety percent due to genetic abnormalities that happen as a result of the aging process and the “wear and tear” of life in general.

GMO Foods

Linda’s comment:   We all hear about GMO foods and how deadly it can be for those of us with chronic illness….We have an epidemic of poor health, yet we can fix that if we clean up our diets….

Dr. Gordon’s Comments:

GMO foods are one cause of todays epidemic of poor health contributing to food sensitivities is the tip of the iceberg. Now, there is hope we can stop this monster; truth in labeling will put an end to this travesty.

“Why are there basically no genetically engineered foods or crops anywhere in Europe, while 75 percent of U.S. supermarket foods—including many so-called “natural” foods—are GE tainted?

The answer is simple. In Europe genetically modified foods and ingredients have to be labeled. In the U.S. they do not. Up until now, in North America, Monsanto and the Biotechnocrats have enjoyed free reign to secretly lace non-organic foods with gene-spliced viruses, bacteria, antibiotic-resistant marker genes, and foreign DNA—mutant “Frankenfoods” shown to severely damage the health of animals, plants, and other living organisms in numerous scientific studies.

Monsanto and their allies understand the threat that truth-in-labeling poses for GMOs”

See the attached and know that together consumers do have the power to end Monsanto control of all food.

Celebrating the Non-GMO Revolution

Dear Garry,

On January 20th Pamm Larry had an epiphany, as she calls it. Why not have a GMO labeling law on the November 2012 ballot in California? She did her research, put a website together, and “came out” on March 20—as a single voice with a big idea. Within six months, there were about 70 state leaders – holding events, showing films, recruiting support, and creating the framework for what may become the pivotal vote to usher GMOs out of our food supply.

Vitamin D – Dr. Gordon & Dr. Shallenberger

Dr. Gordon’s Comments:

Vitamin D supplementation now seems essential for almost everyone on the planet. We can argue about how much to supplement for which patients. There, of course, will be those who need none and someone will always exist that cannot tolerate any supplemental vitamin D without some side effect occurring. Here are many of the positive reports about vitamin D in one convenient location showing that it might be an alternative to flu shots and is generally low in pregnant women and can help prevent some cancers etc (http://www.agdnutrition.com/articles-archived.html).

5000 units of Vitamin D is not too much and for many patients it is not enough to put their vitamin D levels at what are widely believed now to be optimal levels.

The researchers looked at 3,667 men and women between the ages of 40 to 65 years. It turns out that the dose necessary to ensure that almost all (97.5%) of these people had a vitamin D3 level of at least 40 ng/ml was 9,600 units per day. As you can see, even 9,600 units a day was not enough for many people to achieve the optimal levels (over 60) needed for maximum cancer prevention.

Do you really need to take that much vitamin D?

You probably already know how important vitamin D is for your health. It helps keep your bones strong, your immune system supercharged, and your tissues cancer free. Even though they know it’s good for them, one thing people just can’t understand is the importance of taking a lot of vitamin D.

Folate & Nutritional Status – with Comments by Dr. Gordon

Dr. Gordon’s Comments:

5’MTHF issues are much more complex than is generally recognized, so normal test results can mean nothing. Whatever you knew until today is not enough to protect your patients and loved ones.

The attached NEJM article from July 9 adds considerable likelihood that when someone tells you that the patient’s nutritional status is just fine, they very likely may be dead wrong. The patient suffers seizures and mental disorders that fail to respond to anything because you had not read the attached, which found that the level of folic acid was fine everywhere except in the cerebral spinal fluid. Now they can explain what is going on and it amenable to proper folate treatment, as found in Beyond B-12 sublingual tablets available only from Longevity Plus.

In infantile-onset cerebral folate deficiency, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5MTHF) levels in the cerebrospinal fluid are low, but folate levels in the serum and erythrocytes are normal. We examined serum specimens from 28 children with cerebral folate deficiency, 5 of their mothers, 28 age-matched control subjects, and 41 patients with an unrelated neurologic disorder. Serum from 25 of the 28 patients and 0 of 28 control subjects contained high-affinity blocking autoantibodies against membrane-bound folate receptors that are present on the choroid plexus.

Dr. Gordon comments on magnesium

Linda comments:  Magnesium is so very important to all of us and especially those with chronic illness.  Dr Garry Gordon, DO, MD, MD(h)  speaks about levels and requirements…

A: Dear Doctor:

It appears to me that one mg of MAGNESIUM is so low as to not be meaningful. I am sending you the Google link so you can do your own analysis but I like to administer LOTS of magnesium; for example, 500 mg to one gram so that appears to require several ampoules. I suggest that you give 4 to 8 ampoules. You can now calculate the calcium but I always prefer a little bit more magnesium than calcium in my patients oral and even in IV.

Vitamin C & Brain Health

Linda’s comments:  I take 4 to 5 teaspoons daily of the BIOEN’R-G’Y C  daily…..I love the stuff….

Dr. Gordon’s comments: Please save your patients eyes and brain. Let them understand this important research on vision and brain function and vitamin C! The new research indicates that vitamin C may not only benefit the eye, but have wider implications for the functioning of the central nervous system (CNS).

I have not had less than 8 grams of BIOEN’R-G’Y C a day for years and when under stress like deadlines and travel, 12-16 gm is what I take. My eye glass prescription had to be weakened as at age 76 my vision is improving!

I take everything listed on my website and use PEMF daily including direct to my head! I also have been on continuous oral chelation with the total 9 pill package that requires twice a day for well over 15 years now. So I would prefer to not leave anything out, as everything is working very well!! If I had the time I would get IV Myer’s and short chelation IV too, as nothing can get out all the toxins like lead and oral nutrients usually cannot be well enough absorbed to keep magnesium etc in optimal shape.

But I muddle through somehow with only my oral program but research with PEMF suggests that it provides a bioporation effect.

Vitamin C shows eyes & brain health potential: Study
By Stephen Daniells, 18-Jul-2011

One of the nutrition industry’s biggest sellers – vitamin C – may help nerve cells in the eye to function properly, says a new study that suggests the vitamin may also be important for brain function, too.

The “surprising discovery” by researchers Oregon Health & Science University indicates that vitamin C may be needed for correct functioning of retinal cells, which in turn may have implications for the central nervous system.

Fascinating info on Vitamin D & Hypothyrodism

Linda’s comments”  DIET is everything…..we are what we eat….VitD plays an important factor in our wellness journey….it is a MUST…..when you have a chronic illness this is one test that you should insist that your doctors run on you….while you are at it also ask for a B12- and Magnesium level too.

Dr. G’s comments:

Why are our tissues so calcified when we age? What has vitamin D got to do with it???

I have lectured on this for over 35 years now and we all suffer a tendency toward secondary hyperparathyroidism. This is because our SAD diet supplies on average 1400 mg of phosphorus and only 800 mg of calcium. This stresses our endocrine system and we get secondary hyperparathyroidism, as a result that leads to weak bones and hard calcified arteries. See text and CALCIPHYLAXIS by Hans Selye published by Univ of Chicago Press.

What this article shows you is that higher levels of vitamin D clearly help overcome this serious but nearly epidemic Endocrine condition. Vitamin D then can lead to less bone pathology and if bones are better mineralized, less of the calcium will wind up in blood vessels and you can achieve better blood vessel elasticity.

“Hyperthyroidism” is when the thyroid gland is overactive instead of underactive. It secretes too much thyroid hormone. In this case, more of a good thing is definitely not better. Excess thyroid hormone can cause rapid heartbeat. Body temperature is elevated. The hyperthyroid individual may experience extreme weight loss, in spite of a huge appetite, because they burn up calories too fast. Hyperthyroidism can make a person nervous, emotionally unstable, and unable to sleep.
