The ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases) 2009 Conference is coming up! Dates are October 24-25, 2009, at the Gaylord National Resort, Washington DC. CONFERENCE UPDATES:

As you make arrangements to come to the ILADS scientific session Saturday October 24 and Sunday October 25, 2009 at the Gaylord National Hotel, here are a few tips to help you along the way:

 
1)  The Gaylord National Hotel is in National Harbor, MD formerly Oxen Hill, MD
2) The closest airport by far is Reagan National airport.
3)  The LDA meeting is at the same venue Friday October 23, 2009.  You must register for that meeting separately at www.lymediseaseassociation.org
4)  CALDA has grant money for first time attending physicians.  Please encourage colleagues to attend.
5) There is a large indoor swimming pool on site as well as a spa. 
6)  While the expensive restaurants in the hotel are good, there are abundant choices for dining w/in walking distance of the hotel
7) There are two other hotels with which we have room blocks for the meeting, a Marriott suites and a Hampton Inn.  Please check our web site www.ilads.org to see the best option for you.
8) The program is worth up to 10 Category I CME credits.
9)  The meeting goes from 8am Saturday morning until 12:30pm Sunday.  Continental breakfast, networking breaks, lunch, and a reception with the exhbitors on Saturday are all included with registration.

Description and Goals

The Tenth Annual ILADS Professional Conference is designed to foster collaboration and dialogue between Lyme disease researchers and those who care and advocate for Lyme disease patients in a variety of settings. The conference will provide updates in clinical knowledge and treatment techniques.  Innovations in care will be addressed in plenary sessions and workshops.

Credits

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Polices of the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) through the joint sponsorship of the WAM and the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. The WAM is accredited by the MSSNY to provide continuing Medical Education for physician.  This educational activity is approved for ten AMA/PRA Category 1 Credit(S) TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  The Westchester Academy of Medicine adheres to ACCME Standards for Commercial Support SM of continuing medical education. All speakers participating in Continuing Medical Education activities are expected to disclose to the program audience any real or apparent conflict(S) of interest related to the content of their presentations.

Target audience

All ILADS members including MDs, DOs, NDs, DMD, DVM, PhDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, LCSW and select alternative medicine providers.  Lyme advocacy members will be encouraged as space permits.    Medical students, residents, or interns may register at a discounted rate.  Attendees may take advantage of a pre-registration fee on-line until September 30th.  Register at www.ILADS.org.

Transportation

Gaylord National is just a 15-minute drive from Reagan National Airport and within a 45-minute drive from Dulles and Baltimore Washington International Airports.
