A contributor to food allergies/sensitivities has emerged, tick bites. This is a great piece of detective work and seems to not affect B or AB blood groups, as much as Type A or O.

“Scott Commins, an assistant professor of medicine and lead author of the U-Va. Study published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, said that in susceptible people such as Newell, a tick bite that causes a significant skin reaction seems to trigger the production of an antibody that binds to a sugar present on meat called alpha-galactosidase, also known as alpha-gal. When a person who has the antibody eats meat, it triggers the release of histamine, which causes the allergic symptoms: hives, itching and, in the worst case,alpha-galactosidase.”

Of course today with our epidemic of autoimmune disease and leaky gut and low level infections like Chlamydia and CMV in almost everyone, these elevated antibodies to something or even auto-antibodies are very common and may be more dangerous than widely appreciated.

I still encourage those of you who are sensitive to so many foods to understand that leaky gut is epidemic today. I am convinced GMO foods are a contributor, as they introduce Bacillus Theringensis into our bodies, which are now detectible in the blood stream of patients! Bt then causes Dysbiosis.

This link is a great reminder about some basics that are needed for effective detoxing but this is never a simple one day visit to a spa. This is a LIFETIME PROGRAM. In an article to be published in the November 15th issue of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, researchers have found that mercury is likely to be one of the multiple causes of Alzheimer’s disease. Mercury is one of the most toxic natural substances. It poses a danger to humans and may lead to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. After a systematic review of existing experimental and clinical research literature, researchers associated with the Viadrina European University, the Samueli Institute (Virginia, USA), Northeastern University (Boston, MA, USA) and the University Hospital Freiburg found that the symptoms and features of Alzheimer’s disease were reproduced or accelerated when mercury was introduced. 

Mercury binds tightly to selenium, a naturally occurring metal found in our diet that is important for good health. Proteins associated with selenium form a class of molecules that help prevent damage due to oxidative stress, which is the stress that occurs when metabolism takes place. Oxidative stress leads to cell death and thus aging. When mercury binds to selenium, this process may be accelerated, as are other degenerative processes in the brain. 

The experimental research literature indicates that animal and cell models reproduce all the features of Alzheimer’s disease when mercury is given. For instance, one of the more widely known uses of mercury is in amalgam dental fillings, the most common type of fillings used by dentists. Studies of low-dose human exposure, such as to dentists and their staff, show that exposure to mercury is significantly correlated with neurological or psychological harm, or both. 

Linda’s comment:  This is all part of the FIGHT protocol…however, I do take other things added to this like a good probiotic, etc., etc., etc.

Dr. Gordon’s Comments: You are not taking enough fiber to keep your intestinal flora happy unless you are on Beyond Fiber. With the epidemic of food sensitivities today just consuming a great probiotic is not enough, as you must feed the new flora. I hope you will learn more about stabilized rice bran with artichoke and EDTA, as found in Beyond Fiber!

Cardiovascular disease or heart disease is a class of diseases that involve the heart or blood vessels (arteries and veins). There are several risk factors for cardiovascular disease that are essentially immutable. These are older age, male gender, and a family history of CVD. Additionally, three major risk factors identified include cigarette smoking, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol), and hypertension. Other identified factors associated with increased risk for cardiovascular disease include physical inactivity, sleep problems, diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis, obesity, excessive intake of alcohol, thrombotic and fibrinolytic factors, elevated homocysteine levels, certain infections and inflammation, exogenously administered estrogens and androgens, certain psychosocial factors, increased fasting glucose. and frequency of migraines. The synergism of the presence of multiple risk factors must also be considered.

Dietary fiber is a general term that refers to a wide variety of compounds from plants that are resistant to the digestive enzymes produced by humans. Because dietary fiber is resistant to digestive enzymes, it is not broken down or absorbed, which means it does not provide calories or energy to the body. In general, high fiber diets are associated with significantly reduced risks of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and all cause mortality. It is generally recommended that Americans should strive to achieve a total dietary fiber intake of 25 to 30 grams/day, which should preferentially come from foods, not supplements. However, dietary surveys indicate that dietary fiber intake among adults in the United States averages about 15 grams/day, or approximately half the recommended amount.

This issue about flame retardant is the tip of the iceberg. The world is clearly becoming increasingly toxic and everyone is looking for more support for their  detoxification program. The patent filing said the substance must be injected directly into the tumor. This means it has no benefits if taken by mouth. Since it will cost too much money to develop the product as a drug so the company decided to sell it as a dietary supplement. Zeolites have not been studied as a cancer drug in human clinical trials.
