Excerpt:
Paraneoplastic disorders of the CNS result from immune responses to neuronal proteins expressed by tumors found elsewhere in the body. Limbic encephalitis, one of the most common manifestations of paraneoplastic disorders, is characterized by rapid onset of psychiatric and neurological symptoms that often culminate in severe neurological deterioration. Recent work has described paraneoplastic syndromes with prominent, and sometimes isolated, psychiatric symptoms for which patients are first seen by a psychiatrist. Here the authors review the existing literature on psychiatric and behavioral manifestations of paraneoplastic disorders, the cellular mechanisms underlying these syndromes, and current treatment and outcomes. They also discuss the broad behavioral findings that highlight the need for psychiatrists to be aware of initial presentations of paraneoplastic disorders

Linda’s comments:..This is a very important subject for all folks, especially those with chronic illness. It is very hard to get well when you are being blasted by EMF/EMR. One of the things I have noticed is the more I detox the more sensitive I am to EMF/EMR. I’m GRATEFUL for this, as it is a sure sign that I am being blasted more than what I ever imagined.
I am being treated by a new technology called Energy Enhancement System and you can read more at www.eesystem.com ……These treatments are helping me to eliminate the EMF/EMR’s from my body. The exciting thing about these treatments is I take my lifelong daily detox protocol FIGHT before I enter the room for a 2 hour session….the system ENHANCES the protects I am taking for the FIGHT program.
There are many who are buying these systems for their homes….I wish I could afford a system.
Please read all the information below regarding EMF/EMR and learn. When a chronically ill person is getting too much EMF/EMR they can will not reach the wellness level they want to reach.

A report that cited more than 2,000 studies found that chronic exposure to even low-level radiation (like that from cell phones) can cause a variety of cancers, impair immunity, and contribute to Alzheimer’s disease and
dementia, heart disease, and many other ailments. One likely way: EMFs open the blood-brain barrier, causing blood vessels to leak fluid into the brain and damage neurons.
What’s more, a less–well known kind of EMF, known as “dirty” or transient electricity #, may play an even more damaging role. Transients are largely by-products of modern energy-efficient electronics and appliances—from computers, refrigerators, and plasma TVs to compact fluorescent light bulbs and dimmer switches—which tamp down the electricity they use. This manipulation of current creates a wildly fluctuating and potentially dangerous electromagnetic field that essentially charges up the electrons in every cell of your body. Some research suggests that by overlapping the body’s signaling mechanisms, transients may interfere with the secretion of insulin, drown out the call and response of the immune system, and cause other physical havoc.

Linda’s comments: Finally a university does a study and admits they find that Fiber boosts our immune systems. AND yes, a good Fiber can reduce inflammation associated with obesity related diseases. The BEYOND FIBER I take has more than just fiber….please go here and read about the fiber I take twice daily… www.longevityplus.com <BEYOND FIBER> This Beyond Fiber is part of the FIGHT protocol that I have been on for over 1 1/2 years. I had tried over 15 different fibers before Beyond FIber. I will never go back. Healing our cells helps us to recover faster from different infections.
Join the FIGHT team and get healthy!! Go to www.gordonresearch.com and find the Webinar’s on the F.I.G.H.T. protocol. I do believe you will be pleasantly surprised what you learn there. By reducing our total body burden of pathogens and toxins leads us to a healthier life and a happier YOU.

A new University of Illinois study touts the benefits of soluble fiber – found in oats, apples, and nuts, for starters – saying that it reduces the inflammation associated with obesity-related diseases and strengthens the immune system.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a disease that was prominent with
increased inflammation response in immune system, appeared mostly with
peripheral arthritis and endogenous and exogenous antigens play a role
in the pathogenesis of disease. Two major reasons were thinking to be
considerably important. First of them is immunological predisposition
and the second one is environmental factors. Continued

Clinical practice guidelines are increasing in number. Unfortunately,
when scientific evidence is uncertain, limited, or evolving, as is often
the case, conflict often arises between guideline committees and
practicing physicians, who bear the direct responsibility for the care of
individual patients. The 2006 Infectious Diseases Society of America
guidelines for Lyme disease, which have limited scientific support,
could, if implemented, limit the clinical discretion of treating physicians
and the treatment options available to patients
Introduction
Clinical practice guidelines are now ubiquitous throughout the
United States. The National Guidelines Clearing House, under the
category “diseases,” currently lists 2,126 separate guidelines on its
web site. Clinical guidelines are intended to assist physicians in
patient care by clearly communicating the results of the guideline
committees’ evaluation of available therapeutic options. However,
the processes by which individual guidelines are constructed may be
less clear, leading to disagreements between the issuing committee
and the physicians who treat patients-physicians who may well be
as experienced and knowledgeable as the guideline committee. Continued

Lyme seems suddenly to be everywhere and now we learn that most of us have Cytomegalic Virus too. This new research helps explain the sudden increase in Lyme world wide!
This information combined with the CMV research should be enough that, when considered altogether, leads me to believe that soon infections might overtake all other challenges including toxins, heavy metals, food sensitivities etcetera, as the key missing culprit that must be dealt with in all chronic disease patients if you are to see real lasting results! This article in the NY TIMES changes everything for Lyme disease patients.
Finally our doctors may not have to fight to keep their medical licenses when they are brave enough to become LYME LITERATE DOCTORS.
This article will clearly change the terrain, as it states that the diagnosis is complex and that antibiotic treatment is warranted in spite of negative test results since there are so many false negative and false positive results. It quotes the May issue of the Mayo Clinic proceedings that says patients are best diagnosed by SYMPTOMS. Continued

What should you focus on to help the most patients? Putting good things in, or getting bad things out, or killing some of the infections we all have? The answer is beginning to be clear; it is NOT EITHER/ OR but EVERYTHING!
The front cover of Time June 6 2008 has a picture of a baby and the key article is The Truth About Vaccines. For once it admits there is a problem and that many are going to opt out of vaccinating their children. There are other useful comments in their article but I draw your attention to their conclusion that GENETICS and ENVIROMENTAL exposures must be behind the increase in AUTISM. Continued

Lyme disease and chronic illnesses are completely reversible thanks to
The Incredible Healing Action of One Simple Herb!
From Dr. Robert Jay Rowen’s SECOND OPINION
Vol. XIII, No. 12, December 2003
Larry Powers won the Mr. America competition in 1962 with a huge Hulk-type frame. But 13 years ago, Larry developed all the signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and the diagnosis confirmed it. Larry received the usual medicines and recently had completed eight years of Sinemet, only to experience gradual worsening, typical of PD’s progressive course. He was spending a fair amount of time in a wheelchair and, at one point, needed assistance to eat. Then he heard about Lyme and it’s connection to Parkinson’s. Continued
