Department of Infectious Diseases, Ryhov County Hospital, Jönköping, Sweden.

We studied retrospectively the medical records of all patients diagnosed with neuroborreliosis (NB) by cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis in Jönköping County, Sweden, during 2000-2005 (n=150). The number of NB cases increased from 5 to 10/100,000 inhabitants/year. In 17% of the patients, Borrelia-antibodies were found in CSF but not in serum at the time of diagnosis. Facial palsy, headache and fever were frequent manifestations in children, whereas unspecific muscle and joint pain were the most commonly reported symptoms in older patients.

Vitamins and Teenagers: A Personal Statement
by Stephen H. Brown, PhD

(OMNS, Jan 26, 2010) In our house, vitamin supplements sit on the counter in open bowls like nuts, dried fruits, or jelly beans.

Colds, respiratory illnesses, intestinal viruses, mono, and other infectious diseases are constantly present in American schools. In response, my teenage kids have placed four bowls on the kitchen counter – a large one in the middle full of vitamin C surrounded by three smaller bowls of niacin, vitamin D, and thiamine tablets. They help themselves to the vitamins when they feel the need, and many of their friends have adopted the idea as well. Regularly, the kids report that the vitamins actually work. The most frequent comments are, “Wow, I can breath through my nose again!”, and “I was sure I was getting sick yesterday but I feel fine today.” Continued

Dr. Mercola on toxins

Linda’s comment….I don’t know what more I can say except for wake-up and listen.  I had no idea the impact implementing an “lifelong” detox program, (FIGHT) would have on my body and healthcare journey!!  When we are dealing with chronic illness we must deal with it on a “daily” basis.  We can’t do it one day then skip a couple of days.  We need to focus on JUST DOING IT!!!

Both Dr Garry Gordon, DO, MD, MD(h) and Dr Mercola realize the importance of a lifelong detox.

I am available for any questions you might have on how to get started.  I’m here as a coach/guide.  I am not a doctor and I don’t pretend to be, but I have walked this road and very happy I did.

Regards,
Linda
This is the crux of the matter, toxins are everywhere and we are all suffering, as a result. The attached from Dr Mercola has organized a few of the major known culprits so you can start to educate yourselves and your patients. These are major known contributors to the health problems of our patients, there are hundreds more that we have no information about!

Lyme disease presenting as subacute transverse myelitis

Lyme disease (borreliosis) is a systemic illness resulting from infection
with the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi. It is transmitted to humans by the
bites of infected ticks belonging to several species of the genus Ixodes.
After the bacteria enter the body via the dermis, most patients develop the
early, localised form of Lyme disease, which is characterised by erythema
migrans and influenza-like symptoms. This disease may also affect the heart,
nervous system and joints. The neurological findings of this disease may
include peripheral and central nervous system signs.
A 21-year-old woman attended a family medicine outpatient clinic complaining
of unexplained pain and muscle power loss in her lower extremities. The
problem had started in her right leg 3 months earlier and worsened in the
last week. She had a neurology consultation and was hospitalised. Her
neurological examination revealed bilateral facial paralysis and sensory
impairment. Immunoglobulin M antibody to B. burgdorferi was positive on
Western blotting in both serum and cerebrospinal fluid. The patient was
diagnosed with subacute neuroborreliosis and treated.

ABC Responds to Article on Herb-Drug Interactions

Linda’s comment:  Amazing isn’t it that a group of doctors would embarrass themselves so tragically by the many mistakes they have made regarding Herb-Drug Interactions in Journal of the American College of Cardiology? They expect us to respect their avenues of treatment plans with using such poor judgement on making statements like they did with this article.
This is why I preach to all of you to do research if you are not sure about taking an herb with a pharmaceutical.  Yes of course there are herbs that will react differently when taking pharmaceutical drugs.  However, there are times it can compliment one to the other.  People who are on Chemotherapy/Radiation can and do take the “organic” Agaricus Mushroom from Brazil.  In fact we have seen many cancer patients on chemo respond more quickly when taking this Brazil mushroom.  Mushrooms are not mushrooms are not mushrooms AND you need to make sure what country the mushroom came from.  Most mushrooms come from China and/or Japan and these do NOT have the potency that the mushroom from Brazil has.  This is just one example of how pharmaceuticals can work with a choice of treatment which is stepping outside of the box.

(Austin, TX) At least several times per year an article is published in a medical journal that purports to provide health professionals and the public with useful information on the safety of herbs and herbal dietary supplements. Instead, what sometimes occurs is an article written by people with apparently little to no expertise in the subject area of herbal medicine and medicinal plant research and likewise apparently peer reviewed—if peer reviewed at all—by reviewers with little botanical knowledge or expertise. Yesterday, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology published such an article.1

This particular article has so many flaws and errors that it is difficult to know where to begin to critically review it.

Monsanto plans to unleash its latest Frankenfood experiment

Linda’s comments:  THIS is criminal in my book.  Do they think we have stupid stamped on our foreheads?  We can stop this or at least make enough noise that Monsanto will think twice.  The main thing we can do is JUST SAY NO TO GMO and DO NOT PURCHASE THESE DEADLY FOODS.  The consumers are in control and need to take a stand.  We need to put our feet down and stand against these companies that have NO regard for our health and safety.  Cancers and autoimmune diseases are on the rise.  You can bet that GMO foods are part of the problem.  Think of your children and grand-children.  Don’t you want them to lead a healthy life and live to teach their grand-children??  How many more lives have to be lost to these DEADLY foods?  Stop and think about this, when your past presidents would not allow the GMO foods to be served to their families how can they allow Monsanto to continue??  Follow the money!!!

Lipoic Acid: New Research & the New Paradigm

Linda’s comments:  ZeoGold is a very important part of the FIGHT program.  I take it daily.  In fact during the testing period I took as much as one teaspoon of ZeoGold daily.  I take this with one teaspoon=4000mg of the BioEnergyC.  I also take three additional teaspoons of BioEnergy C throughout the day.  I again urge each and everyone of you to study the FIGHT program.  I have been on the FIGHT program 1 1/2 years now, with GREAT results.  Even though I’m taking the ZeoGold, I continue to take 5 sprays, 3x’s daily and sometimes more of the ACZnano Zeolite.

Dengue Virus Antibodies Actually Exacerbate the Disease. New Finding

Finding has major implications for efforts to develop a first-ever vaccine against the dangerous infectious disorder

SAN DIEGO – (February 11, 2010) A leading immunology research institute has validated the long-held and controversial hypothesis that antibodies – usually the “good guys” in the body’s fight against viruses – instead contribute to severe dengue virus-induced disease, the La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology announced today. The finding has major implications for the development of a first-ever vaccine against dengue virus, a growing public health threat which annually infects 50 to 100 million people worldwide, causing a half million cases of the severest form.

“Our lab has proven the decades old hypothesis that subneutralizing levels of dengue virus antibodies exacerbate the disease,” said La Jolla Institute scientist Sujan Shresta, Ph.D, noting this occurs in people with secondary dengue virus infections who have antibodies to the virus due to a previous infection. “This is a situation where antibodies can be bad for you, which is counter to everything we know about the normal function of antibodies. It also presents a special challenge for researchers working to develop a dengue virus vaccine, since most vaccines work by prompting the body to produce antibodies.”

Milk Thistle Cuts Liver Toxicity from ALL Chemotherapy

Full article: http://www.medpagetoday.com/HematologyOncology/Leukemia/17506

Excerpt:

The study “provides preliminary evidence that milk thistle may be a safe, effective, supportive-care agent,” the researchers concluded in an online report in Cancer.

“Milk thistle needs to be studied further, to see how effective it is for a longer course of treatment, and whether it works well in reducing liver inflammation in other types of cancers and with other types of chemotherapy,” Kelly said in a press release issued by the American Cancer Society, publisher of Cancer. “However, our results are promising as there are no substitute medications for treating liver toxicity.”
