Bisphenol A – Comments from Dr. Gordon and Research Paper

Toxins work in many ways. We can now better understand the causes behind our epidemic of obesity and diabetes and impaired suboptimal health, as a nation. The attached research will show that BPA (BISPHENOL A) is worse than any of us realized yet the lie goes on and, until recently, FDA still insisted it and many other toxins are perfectly safe.

Bisphenol A (BPA, 2,2-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) propane; CAS# 80-05-7) is a chemical used primarily in the manufacture of polycarbonate plastic, epoxy resins and as a non-polymer additive to other plastics. Recent evidence has demonstrated that human and wildlife populations are exposed to levels of BPA which cause adverse reproductive and developmental effects in a number of different wildlife species and laboratory animal models. However, there are major uncertainties surrounding the spectrum of BPA’s mechanisms of action, the tissue-specific impacts of exposures, and the critical windows of susceptibility during which target tissues are sensitive to BPA exposures. As a foundation to address some of those uncertainties, this review was prepared by the “In vitro” expert sub-panel assembled during the “Bisphenol A: An Examination of the Relevance of Ecological, In vitro and Laboratory Animal Studies for Assessing Risks to Human Health” workshop held in Chapel Hill, NC, Nov 28-29, 2006. 

The specific charge of this expert panel was to review and assess the strength of the published literature pertaining to the mechanisms of BPA action. 

However, the primary endocrine disrupting activities of BPA extend beyond its ability to mimic, enhance or inhibit the activity of endogenous estrogens and/or disrupt estrogen nuclear hormone receptor action, and include the following: effects upon the androgen systems [22–29]; disruption of thyroid hormone function [30–40]; diverse influences on development, differentiation and function of the central nervous system [40–46]; and influences on the immune system [21,47–65]. There is additional clear evidence for BPA to directly impact intracellular signal transduction pathways through mechanisms independent of the transactivational activity of nuclear hormone receptors [43,46,66–79]. Secondary metabolic and pharmacokinetic actions of BPA that impact its bioavailability and bioavailability of endogenous steroid hormones have also been described.

Contaminated Food – Message from Dr. Gordon

How many illnesses you are seeing are related to food poisoning?  Many more than you might suspect. So many people have low stomach acid and yet believe that they have excess acid and might be on Nexium to increase their likelihood of succumbing to tainted food with acute or chronic GI related symptoms.

This article suggests many more than we may suspect are suffering from contaminated food. EVERY day, about 200,000 Americans are sickened by contaminated food. Every year, about 325,000 are hospitalized by a food-borne illness. And the number who are killed annually by something they ate is roughly the same as the number of Americans who’ve been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003.

Those estimates, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suggest the scale of the problem. But they fail to convey the human toll. The elderly and people with compromised immune systems face an elevated risk from food-borne pathogens like listeria, campylobacter and salmonella. By far the most vulnerable group, however, are children under the age of 4. Our food will never be perfectly safe — and yet if the Senate fails to pass the food safety legislation now awaiting a vote, tens of thousands of American children will become needlessly and sometimes fatally ill.

Almost one year ago, the House of Representatives passed the Food Safety Enhancement Act with bipartisan support. A similar bill, the F.D.A. Food Safety Modernization Act, was unanimously approved by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee in November. This legislation would grant the Food and Drug Administration, which has oversight over 80 percent of the nation’s food, the authority to test widely for dangerous pathogens and improve the agency’s ability to trace outbreaks back to their source. Most important, it would finally give the agency the power to order the recall of contaminated foods — and to punish companies that knowingly sell them.

Chronic Fatigue Sufferers May Be Asked to Avoid Donating Blood

There’s been a flurry of activity by experts trying to suss out if the virus XMRV, which has been associated with chronic fatigue syndrome, poses a threat to the U.S. blood supply.

On Friday,  Louis Katz, executive vice-president of medical affairs at Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center in Davenport, Iowa, and a member of the AABB task force studying the issue, gave his own latest assessment of the situation: People who have been diagnosed by a doctor with CFS should not donate blood, at least not at this point. (The AABB is an association that includes the facilities that collect virtually all of the U.S. blood supply.)

Last October, a paper in the journal Science linked XMRV — first discovered in 2006 — to CFS, which affects an estimated 17 million people worldwide. Since then, public health officials have been racing to learn more. Although it still isn’t yet known whether XMRV causes CFS or any other disease, there are concerns that the virus might be transmitted through blood donations.

Aspartame comments – Dr. Betty Martini, D.Hum

Dear Xxxxxxx,

Were you on aspartame before you started using Splenda?  Before
Splenda we thought never could anyone ever create another poison like
aspartame that is so toxic it destroys the brain, the central nervous
system, the optic nerve and the immune system, and ravages every
organ in the body.  From taking the case histories for 19 years I
can’t imagine anything more poisonous.  Even with testing on
aspartame the FDA wanted them indicted for fraud because there was no
way to show safety and its a carcinogen.  But when Splenda came along
consumers were aghast they had made something else that poisons the
system.  To make matters worse, Dr. James Bowen says that
if  consumers go from aspartame to Splenda they will maintain the
reactions from aspartame and pick up those from Splenda.

In today’s society with companies poisoning our food supply you have
to become a label reader.  The FDA doesn’t care about the food supply
being safe.  So you must be responsible for what you put in your mouth.

One thing we know is that Splenda interacts.  The company admitted to
Marianne Lamar that  Splenda does cause headaches and seizures.  That
means you are using a deadly drug, its not inert.  This came directly
from the company itself although there are many reactions to Splenda
from rashes to cardiac problems.  As to joint pain, yes it has been

Also, Citizens for Health and James Turner, DC attorney filed a
petition to ban Splenda and they haven’t received an answer although
there is a time limit on the FDA answering citizens petitions which
is 180 days.  They haven’t answered my petition for ban of aspartame
in almost 7 years.  So you know the FDA is serving above the law and
giving their loyalty to Big Pharma and the chemical industry.  This
is something Congress needs to deal with.  In fact, I’ve petitioned
the FDA to ban aspartame based on an imminent health hazard and they
only have a week or ten days to answer that.  That was over two years
ago.   So you have an FDA way out of control who is ignoring
consumers  and scientists.  Dr. Stoller also petitioned the FDA to
ban aspartame and its not been answered.  In fact, twelve
toxicologists have written the FDA to ban aspartame, and I doubt that
they have heard either.

A landmark paper on homeopathy and cancer has appeared in the February 2010 issue of the International Journal of Oncology. Scientists at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (MDA), led by Moshe Frenkel, MD, have confirmed the ability of four homeopathic remedies to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in breast cancer cell lines in the laboratory. The scientists in question were from the Integrative Medicine Program, the Department of Molecular Pathology, and the Department of Melanoma Medical Oncology of MDA. Their two Indian collaborators were from the Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation, Kolkata, India, where these same remedies are employed clinically with apparent success. The four ultra-dilute remedies in question were Carcinosin, Phytolacca, Conium and Thuja.

Monsanto plans to unleash its latest Frankenfood experiment

Linda’s comments:  THIS is criminal in my book.  Do they think we have stupid stamped on our foreheads?  We can stop this or at least make enough noise that Monsanto will think twice.  The main thing we can do is JUST SAY NO TO GMO and DO NOT PURCHASE THESE DEADLY FOODS.  The consumers are in control and need to take a stand.  We need to put our feet down and stand against these companies that have NO regard for our health and safety.  Cancers and autoimmune diseases are on the rise.  You can bet that GMO foods are part of the problem.  Think of your children and grand-children.  Don’t you want them to lead a healthy life and live to teach their grand-children??  How many more lives have to be lost to these DEADLY foods?  Stop and think about this, when your past presidents would not allow the GMO foods to be served to their families how can they allow Monsanto to continue??  Follow the money!!!
